Akira Kushida (串田 アキラ Kushida Akira, born October 17, 1948 in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture) is a famous japanese vocalist well known for working on hit songs featured for many anime productions since as far back as the 1980's and he has also worked on many songs in the tokusatsu genre, such as Super Sentai (Power Rangers) and many others. His songs are mainly used as openings or singles for said productions. His fans endearingly refer to him by the nickname Kussy (クッシー Kusshī), a shortened version of his last name.
He has currently written both of the openings in the Toriko anime and has also done other songs for the series.
Anime[]
Akira makes an animated cameo appearance in the Toriko 2013 movie as himself, however his role in the film remains unknown. Much like in real life, his character is a famous Human World singer.
