The Almond Cabbage (アーモンドキャベツ Āmondo Kyabetsu) is a very common breed of vegetable available throughout the Human World. Although technically a vegetable, this cabbage tastes and has a texture more like almonds. It makes a great snack or salad accent. But since it is as calorie-rich as almonds, trying to go on diet by eating Almond Cabbage salads will not work.
Almond Cabbage is also the the Salad of Zongeh's Full Course Menu.[1]
History[]
Galala Gator Arc[]
On his way to the Baron Archipelago, Toriko eats one with some wine and a Striped Salmon.[2]
Cooking Festival Arc[]
After the fall of the Meteor Spice which devastated the natural resources of the Human World, all ingredients became incredibly difficult and rare to produce, forcing the IGO to replace them with Food Tablets containing the same nutritional value of specific ingredients but lacking their taste. Almond Cabbages were also made into Food Tablets.[3]
Toriko's Return[]
A year and a half later, Food Tablets are still the only "food" that can be produced with Almond Cabbages now being the most common type of Food Tablets. However, when Toriko finally returns from his trip within Gourmet World, he brings with him a vast harvest of ingredients for all of the Human World. It is currently unknown if this will allow for Almond Cabbage to be produced normally again.
