The Bat Snake is a large, winged reptile beast that looks like a snake-bat hybrid, as its name implies.
Anatomy[]
The Bat Snake is a large reptilian snake with the head and wings of a bat. Its skin and scales are green in color with red circular markings along its back. Its underbelly is yellow with numerous horizontal lines across it. It has tufts of white hair on its head and on the tip of its tail. It has large bat-like ears and sharp carnivorous teeth, as well as tiny blue eyes and a bat-like nose.
Behavior[]
It is a relentless predator that will pursue any prey that enters its territory. It mainly inhabits damp wetlands.
As Food[]
The Bat Snake is described by Toriko as having very spongy meat and is not tasty at all.
In Toriko: Bakushoku Gourmet Battle, it is shown that Bat Snakes can actually be eaten if its meat is made into a soup that has Mineral Consomme and Damp Shimeji mushrooms. The prepared Bat Soup (バットスープ, Battosūpu) has body enhancing properties that can increase the defense of the eater.
History[]
Toriko 3D Movie: Kaimaku! Gourmet Adventure!![]
It first appeared in Toriko 3D Movie: Kaimaku! Gourmet Adventure!!, where one attempted to kill Peck and Toriko as they headed for Tarau Heigen. Luckily, Toriko was able to use Knocking on it, thus avoiding any unnecessary bloodshed.

Toriko: Bakushoku Gourmet Battle[]
In Toriko: Bakushoku Gourmet Battle, Bat Snakes appear as enemies that can be hunted for ingredients and are actually shown to be edible unlike in the film. They also have a new "Bat Snake subspecies" (バットスネーク亜種, Battosunēku ashu) which is completely white in color.
