The Don Acorn (首領 (ドン) ドングリ Don Donguri) is a giant oak nut touted as the "King of Acorns".
Preparation[]
It has the toughest shell of any acorn, and unless one uses a special hammer to break it (although Toriko cuts clean through one with his Knife), one runs the risk of shattering their knife instead!
As Food[]
The nutmeat inside has a fruity flavor and is popular as a nut juice. In the anime Komatsu was able to use it as an excellent pizza topping for his Melk Special.
History[]
Melk Stardust Arc[]
A Don Acorn is responsible for breaking Komatsu's beloved knife, but in a way it is also responsible for beginning his and Toriko's quest for the Melk Stardust.
After Melk the Second reforges Komatsu's knife, he uses it to cut a Don Acorn and does so with ease.
In the anime, Komatsu used the Don Acorn, along with Onion Bananas and Plumage Pig Dry-Cured Ham in making the Melk Special pizza for Melk the Second to prove to her the value of the new knife she made for him.
