The Butterfly Worm is a winged insect beast that resembles a large centipede with dragonfly-like wings. It is one of the many insects bred and stored within Tommyrod's body.
Anatomy[]
The Butterfly Worm is a large insectoid with a very long body length that can grow to be around 2.5 meters, and when fully grown it can weigh up to 10 kilograms. It overall resembles a giant brown centipede with two pairs of dragonfly-like wings near both ends of its body. Its face is a lighter color of brown with blue markings and it has sharp pincers near its mouth.
Behavior[]
It grows to maturity by absorbing nutrients from its host's body. The Buttefly Worm burrows its way into the body of its prey, eating any tissues and organs in its path.
Powers and Abilities[]
Its hundreds of legs enable it to move at surprisingly fast speeds and attacks its prey by first piercing their heart and then their brain. Its wings also allow it to fly at equally surprising speeds. Like most of Tommyrod's insects, it also has a strong life force and can survive being cut in half, however Takimaru's attacks were capable of disabling it.
Uses[]
While the Butterfly Worm itself is inedible, it produces a bitterly strong liqueur when soaked in liquor.
History[]
Century Soup Arc[]
A Butterfly Worm was summoned by Tommyrod to kill two Wall Penguins who were celebrating the return of their child, having done so due to finding their noise irritating. After the Butterfly Worm pierced their hearts and brains, it was itself killed by a combined attack from Toriko, Match and Takimaru.
