Fortune Tellers are individuals with clairvoyant abilities or techniques that reveal the future and fortunes of others. In the Gourmet Age, Gourmet Fortune Tellers are the most popular and sought after types of Fortune Tellers as they mainly focus on fortunes and revelations relating to the locations of gourmet ingredients or revealing how much Food Luck their clients will have in the near-future.

Fortune Tellers are abundant in the small town of Gourmet Fortune where many come in hopes of finding what they seek or what their futures hold.

Role and Techniques[]

Through the use of special skills, Fortune Tellers are able to predict or foresee events or find the location of specific people or items. The only known Fortune Tellers all use abilities and techniques unique to themselves.

Gourmet Cells[]

Coco one of the Four Heavenly Kings has enhanced vision thanks to his Gourmet Cells which allow him to sense electromagnetic waves and other minor changes in the present. He can then analyze these changes to predict the most likely future outcome. He can also sense when one's life is in danger when a strange change in the waves around the victim become what is known as "The Shadow of Death". On occasion Coco's superhuman eyesight may even allow him to see actual glimpses of the future, basically granting him clairvoyance, although these visions appear to occur only on certain occasions. He can also achieve synesthesia by sensing sensations in electromagnetic waves and basically see what others cannot not. Because of this he is one of the most successful Gourmet Fortune Tellers in the world.

Scrying[]

The fortune teller Endo uses the traditional technique of "scrying" which involves using a reflective crystal ball. In this case his crystal ball resembles a ball of meat with two bones sticking out of its sides. When peering into it, he is granted clairvoyance and can see glimpses of the possible future, however his visions do not appear to be detailed and can only see what is to come after a certain event.

Ehou Maki[]

The most unusual and certainly the least traditional style of fortune telling known is that of the sushi craftsman Monchy. Monchy's method of predicting fortunes (or to be precise fortunes relating to finding the location of specific ingredients) does not rely on natural clairvoyance, scrying or the use of any other well known fortune telling techniques or items, instead his method relies purely on chance, doing so via the usage of an Ehou Maki sushi roll. While this method of fortune telling is questionable its results are nonetheless the most precise among fortune telling techniques as they're always right on the mark, unlike other fortune tellers such as Coco whose clairvoyant abilities can only predict or find certain things to a certain extent rather than lead directly to what one desires. Monchy basically asks his customers to bring him rare ingredients suitable for a sushi role and he then builds a standing Ehou Maki and then proceeds to let it fall and the direction it falls to will point to what one desires. The bigger and longer an Ehou Maki is, the more precise it will be in pointing to the location of what one desires, to the point where its top will basically land right near the desired item.
