History[]
Bubble Fruit Arc[]
Koppowo is assembled along with the other Assistant Masters of Shokurin Temple by Shuu under Chin's instruction, in order to face any threat the temple could suffer under his head master's absence. He is first seen discussing with Shuu and Wagon about the disappearance of Lost Forest on the eve of Chiyo's arrival.[3] When she finally arrives, he inquires about her situation and her involvement with Gourmet Corp. He also knows how dangerous Chiyo can be, but too late for his partner to notice about it. He then warns the other assistants to get ready for the fight, and to not mind if they kill Chiyo.[4] He launches Hundred Piece Fillet at her, but it is useless against her Chopping Board Shield. She then counterattacks him with One Blade: Thunder Cut. He is last seen defeated and being lifted by Chiyo when Chin arrives.[5]
AIR Arc[]
A year and a half later, he is one of the many people who goes to the World Kitchen to say their goodbyes to the Four Heavenly Kings and Komatsu before they set off to Gourmet World.[6]
Anime and Manga Differences[]
In the anime, an extra fight scene is added between Chiyo and Koppowo during Shuu's fight with the Scum Beast. In it Koppowo tries to attack Chiyo with a giant knife made from his own Appetite Energy; however, the blade of energy was easily destroyed by Chiyo who then subdued Koppowo. In the manga it is never stated if the Assistant Masters can use Appetite Energy.
Trivia[]
- His and Wagon's clothing does not follow the traditional red color etiquette of Shokurin Temple like the other Assistant Masters and trainees. The reason for this is not stated.
