Macher (マッハー, Mahhā) is a security officer working for the IGO who is stationed at the entrance of the 8th Biotope.
Appearance[]
Macher is a tall middle-aged man with a large scar that starts on the lower right side of his face and ends on the bridge of his nose. Like the rest of the 8th Biotope's guards, Macher wears a brown uniform with a black undershirt and a dark green cap with a gold emblem that says "IGO".
Personality[]
Macher is loyal guard who tries to maintain his composure at all times despite his dangerous job. However when hearing the Troll Kongs or witnessing great feats of strength, his composure will be broken and will show small signs of fear. Despite his tough and serious persona, he is actually quite a softy with a strong affection for kittens and often adopts abandoned ones.[1]
Powers and Abilities[]
Being a security officer for the IGO, Macher likely has special guard training and many years of experience. Like the rest of the 8th Biotope's guards, Macher carries a rifle on his back which he is likely proficient with.
History[]
Rainbow Fruit Arc[]
When Toriko and Komatsu first arrived at the 8th Biotope, they were greeted by Macher and his fellow officer at the main gate. However they could not open the gates for Toriko due to the Troll Kong activity. To go around this, Toriko made a small hole in the side of the 8th Biotope's wall using his Nail Punch so the Troll Kongs wouldn't escape but he could enter, which greatly shocked Macher, Komatsu and the other guard.
Meteor Garlic Arc[]
Macher was seen at the entrance of the 8th Biotope once again with his fellow guard as they watched Toriko approach the biotope through their binoculars while he was on the back of the lightning fast Terry Cloth, much to their amazement.

- Despite having been revealed as far back as Chapter 4, his name was not revealed until Volume 29.5.
