The Magma Rat (マグマラット Magumaratto) is a small rodent mammal beast that is found in Wul Volcano. It is able to endure the heat of the magma and can also produce a drastic amount of heat from its body.
Anatomy[]
It is a small brown haired rodent with a very simple appearance. Its eyes are small and it appears to have no visible ears. It covers its legs while in movement, making it seem as though it has none. It also has a very notable orange nose. It always has a dull and uncaring look, with its eyes always half open.
Behavior[]
It is a rather lazy and simple beast that spends its days lounging about on stones and seems to posses no hostile traits and can be easily approached or captured without any circumstances. If dangerous change in the environment occurs (such as the battle between Toriko and Grinpatch) it will flee the area posthaste.
Uses[]
Its fur can be used by others to resist the heat to manageable levels up to 10,000 degrees. Their hides are prized insulators.
As Food[]
Their meat is a godsend in protein-starved volcanic regions. Every part of a Magma Rat's body can be used, making it a very versatile food.
Anime and Manga Differences[]
In the anime they are given a more standard rat-like appearance, having a more rat-like body shape and visible ears and feet.
