The Mamew (マミュー Mamyū) is a squat and wingless bird beast found in the Underground Forest of Gourmet World.
Anatomy[]
Their bodies are short, stout and frog-like. They have orange claws on their digits and large aqua-colored beaks full of sharp teeth and pupil-less black eyes (yellow in the anime). Its mouth full of sharp teeth and circular pale eyes bear a resemblance to the Nitros' appearance, who are also native to the Gourmet World.
Behavior[]
It always travels in groups and it'll often call others of its kind when in danger.
History[]
The Reality of Gourmet World Arc[]
When Toriko first enters the Gourmet World, he quickly becomes overwhelmed by the many hazards and powerful beasts present. When a pack of Mamew are about to kill Toriko, he is saved by the arrival of "Knocking Master" Jiro, who takes out the entire pack with his Hard-type Knocking Rifle.
Variations[]
In the video game series, the Mamyuu is shown to have a variety of different subspecies:
- Uni-horn Mamew (イッカクマミュー Ikkakumamyū): In Toriko: Gourmet Survival 2.
- Needle Mamew (トガリマミュー Togarimamyū): In Toriko: Gourmet Survival 2.
