Appearance[]

Important Notice: For convenience purposes in this article, Mami will be referred to as a male until there's a confirmation on his/her gender. This does not mean we consider him a male, it is just done to improve the flow of the article. Mami's gender can be discussed in the comment section below. - Toriko Wiki Staff

Mami is a short individual with dark red skin, large and long green-colored hair, round eyes with long eyelashes and black eyebrows. Most of Mami's face is obscured by coverings and he/she wears what appears to be a large cloak or robe that covers the entirety of his/her short body, making it hard to determine what Mami's true gender and race is.

Personality[]

Not much is known about Mami's personality, although he appears to mainly keep to himself and during the first competition of Cooking Fest he was at the near end of the competing line far from most of the other chefs.

Powers and Abilities[]

Mami swims underwater

Being one of the top 30 chefs in the world, Mami is a chef of masterful skill whose technique in preparing seafood is so extraordinary that he has been dubbed a pioneer of undersea cooking. He can also dive and swim at incredible speeds, managing to hold his breath for an unspecified (but long) amount of time while moving at full speed.

History[]

Cooking Festival Arc[]

Mami aand the other top 100 chefs appear to compete in the 50th Cooking Festival, where he naturally receives a proper introduction by the MC and a great deal of applause upon his appearance.[3] In the swimming part of the first event Triathlon Cooking, Mami takes the lead with his fast underwater swimming but is soon surprised by Wabutora's speed on the surface of the water. Mami finishes the swimming portion 5th, after Setsuno, Zaus, Ton, and Wabutora.[4] Mami passes the three preliminary events: Triathlon Cooking, Scale Death Cooking, and Entire Island Cooking. In the Champion Tournament, his opponent is Tylan.[5]

AIR Arc[]

A year and a half later, he is one of the many people who goes to the World Kitchen to say their goodbyes to the Four Heavenly Kings and Komatsu before they set off to Gourmet World, and he and his fellow chefs promise to cook all the ingredients that they send.[6]

Full Course[]

Seeing that he specializes on seafoods, the majority of his Full Course Menu are made of ingredients from the sea.[7]
