Nitro Cherry (ニトロチェリー Nitoro Cherī) is a super special preparation ingredient and is one of the many ingredients used in the game of Food Concentration.
Preparation[]
The Nitro Cherry requires completely precise handling, otherwise it has the extreme danger of exploding inside the consumer's stomach at the smallest stimuli, which Livebearer compares to sticking dynamite in your body. The Nitro Cherry can only be handled safely if its layers are detached extremely carefully in a stable temperature of 6 °C.
History[]
Meteor Garlic Arc[]
Livebearer uses the Nitro Cherry as a big miss card in the Food Concentration game, a joker,[1] and it has to be cooked in 10 minutes.[2] Komatsu tries to prepare it for Toriko to eat, but 10 minutes is not enough time to completely prepare it. Toriko eats it the way it is and it blows up inside his body.[3] However, Coco prepared Toriko for the ordeal by having him eat a Hannya Panda, which has a high-nutrient content; a Garlic Crab, which boosts recovery rate; a Dynamidragonfly, which helps dampen explosive ingredients; and Troll Cheese, which deadened his nose to the vapors of the Nitro Cherry explosion. Furthermore, Komatsu prepared the cherries for flavor, not for safety, gambling that the taste would invigorate Toriko's Gourmet Cells and help him recover from the trial. Coco then used its joker nature to trade the Hannya Panda for Livebearer's Numblemon, using its electric effect to help Toriko further recuperate.[4]
