Oxygen Leaves are the leaves that grow on the rare Oxygen Trees.
Description[]
Even if there is just a small amount of light, and with the water content and carbon dioxide in a person's breath, it will undergo photosynthesis and produce oxygen. Even a plucked leaf can continue photosynthesizing for a month.
Uses[]
Because its ability to continue producing oxygen even when plucked, an Oxygen Leaf is quite valuable and a sought after item in markets as it can also be used as an Oxygen Mask by adventurers seeking to travel to hazardous regions with low oxygen.[1]
On the market, a single Oxygen Leaf goes for about the same price as a whole japanese cypress and can be sold for almost 1 million yen per leaf. It can also be brewed into a popular tea high in vitamins and antioxidants.
History[]
Ozone Herb Arc[]
When Toriko and Komatsu set out to climb the Sky Plant in order to reach the elusive Ozone Herb, Komatsu began to suffer from the effects of the low air pressure in the higher altitudes of the Sky Plant. To remedy this, Toriko gave Komatsu his Oxygen Leaf mask in order for him to survive. As they climbed up the Sky Plant, the area only got darker due to all the storm clouds, luckily the light from the lightning kept the Oxygen Leaf alive allowing Komatsu to survive through the trip and reach Vegetable Sky unharmed.
