Space Taipan is a titanic snake species that drifts through the space. Its primary source of nutrition are Gourmet planets, which are devoured whole by the snake, although it is very docile creature that does not have a strong appetite. It is said to be able to live comfortably for 1,000 years after eating one planet.

Space Taipan's meat is supposedly extremely delicious, which could be supported by the fact that Toriko wanted to fight the beast even though he knew about its very immense power.

As Toriko and Komatsu set out into space to begin their new intergalactic quest for new ingredients, the Space Taipan ended up being their first encounter and Toriko was all too eager to face off against the creature.
