Toru (とおる, Tōru) is a watchman for the IGO Bureau of Defense Management stationed at the 18th Barrier on Zabel Island.
Appearance
Toru is apparently man of average height with dark curly hair, wearing the standard IGO Bureau of Defense Management uniform, which consists of uniform and cap. He also wears a pair of sunglasses.
Personality
He appears to be a by the book guard who is efficient in his duties, so much so that even when someone as famous and skilled as Knocking Master Jiro came to the 18th Barrier he still asked for permission from his superior on whether to allow clearance.
Toru is also a very cowardly man, and every day he goes to work he is gripped worry and is deathly afraid of being attacked by wild beasts.
Powers and Abilities
Being a watchman on the 18th Barrier, Toru is in charge of surveying any unusual activity from Gourmet World and is also likely in charge of stopping unauthorized entries into Gourmet World unless otherwise approved by his superior.
History
The Reality of Gourmet World Arc
After Surveillance Chief Elboh saw Toriko jump into the Waterfall Basin of Life, Toru went up the chief to report that someone famous had arrived asking permission to enter the Gourmet World. This individual was Knocking Master Jiro who was called by Komatsu to help Toriko out.
